Russell Stewart Trowsdale, ?-1966, was born at Crapaud, Prince Edward Island, and was educated at Prince of Wales College on the Island. In 1904 he began working as an engineer for Robb Engineering Company in Amherst, Nova Scotia. In 1909 he moved to Calgary, Alberta where he worked for the same firm. In 1917 he began working for Canadian General Electric Company, where he rose to become district manager in 1933. He retired in 1951. He was active in his profession and in community affairs, serving as President of the Alberta Association of Professional Engineers, Chairman of the Calgary Branch of the Engioneering Institute of Canada, Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta Kiwanis Clubs, and member of the Boards of Governors of Mount Royal College and the University of Alberta. He was married to Lillie C. Trowsdale, and they had three children, Edgar Stewart, Russell Leroy, and Jean (Klinger).
