System of arrangement

Included in this series are many tear sheets containing Nowlan's poetry detached from little magazines published in the 1950s in the United States. These tear sheets seldom contain the periodical title, date or other publication information. In many cases, Nowlan noted on the tear sheet any information he recalled about the periodical. Nowlan's information was verified when possible, but much could not be verified and some was found to be incorrect. Tear sheets are filed in the Published Work Series using publication information available at the time the collection was arranged.
