Scope and content

Series consists of records documenting the work of Arthur Erickson from 1953 to 1975. The projects span his early practice as Arthur Erickson Architect in Vancouver, the years from 1963 to 1972 as Erickson/Massey Architects, and the years 1972 to 1975 as Arthur Erickson Architects. The records include drawings, project files, photographs, and presentation boards for two-hundred projects, both built and unbuilt. Many of Erickson’s most notable works are represented in the series, including numerous residences, his Expo 67 Pavilions, the MacMillan Bloedel Building, Simon Fraser University, the Osaka Japan Expo 70 Canadian Pavilion, the University of Lethbridge, the Bank of Canada Head Office, and the Museum of Anthropology at University of British Columbia. The series has been divided into three subseries: 1. Drawings; 2. Files; and 3. Photographs and Presentation Boards.
