Scope and content
Series consists of records documenting Mann’s architectural and design projects. The records primarily span the periods Mann was active as an architect during the 1960s and between 1997 and 2015. The series includes architectural drawings, photographs, notes, correspondence, reports, and contracts. The architectural drawings document all stages of the design process including sketches, conceptual drawings, development drawings, perspectives, working drawings, detail drawings, and some annotated field sets. Over 100 of Mann’s projects are documented in the series, including major projects from the 1960s such as Eijgel Residence, Clark Residence, Engineers’ Club, Killarney Community Centre, Jankola Residence, Kiyooka Residence, Mountain Village, Mann Residence, Ozard Residence, Ralph Residence, and the Laura Lynn Riding and Country Club, as well as major later career projects such as Allard Residence Salt Spring and Allard Residence Chestermere, Posts Standing (Ramus Residence), the Totems, Quietude Residence, Manndala (Architect’s Residence), Dunira Lodge, Night Owl (Bridgeman Residence), Scott Studio, Salix (Straw Bale House), Stonecrest (Kitley Lake Residence), and West Residence. The series is arranged in three sub-series: 1. Drawings; 2. Files; 3. Photographs; 4. Panels; 5. Digital files. The files in each subseries are arranged alphabetically by project.
