        Katarzyna Dudek, 1902-1986, was born in Wieprz, Poland, the daughter of Carolus and Anna Dudek. She emigrated from Poland to Canada in 1923, arriving in Halifax on board the S.S. Pittsburgh on February 24, 1923. Katherine (as she subsequently spelled her name) continued on to the Crowsnest Pass area of Alberta and in April 1923 married Tomasz "Tom" Oczkowski, 1885-?, a Bellevue coal miner. Thomas was born in Juszczyna, Poland and had come to Canada in 1912. The Oczkowkis lived in Bellevue until 1928, when they moved to a farm near Lundbreck. They had three sons and three daughters, Charlie, Stanley, Frank, Anna (Leskowsky), Wanda (Suminski), and Mary (Chalmers). They retired to Calgary in 1957.
