Biographical history

Oliver Cromwell Edwards, 1850-1915, was born in Clarence, Ontario. He trained as a medical doctor, and in 1882 came to Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan as an employee of the Indian Department. He made two trips to Fort Resolution, NWT in 1900 and 1901 as part of the Treaty 8 Commission. Later in 1901 he was appointed the physician for the Blood and Peigan reserves near Fort Macleod, Alberta. He moved to Stand Off, where he resided until his death He married Henrietta Muir in 1876, and they had three children, Alice, Muir, and Margaret.
