Biographical history
Alfred Williams "Nick" Carter, 1894-1986, was born on the Fish Creek Ranch in southern Alberta. He attended Western Canada College in Calgary, Alberta. During the First World War he was a fighter pilot and flying ace, and during the Second World War he was awarded the OBE for his work in training Air Cadets for service in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). He later operated car dealerships in Vancouver.
