Biographical history
Neil Nicholson, 1881-1981, was born in Belfast, Prince Edward Island and came west in 1900 to join the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP). He served at Fort Macleod, Alberta from 1900 to 1903, on the Walrond Ranch and at Calgary from 1903 to 1905. He then ranched in the Porcupine Hills area until retiring to Cowley in 1947. He moved to Calgary in 1952. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Veterans and the Masonic Lodge. He served in the First World War in the Royal Canadian Regiment and was decorated for actions at Vimy Ridge. In 1972 he married Winifred E. Whalen, 1889-[after 1981].

Also consists of reminiscences about service in NWMP, Ernest Cashel, and the Lost Lemon Mine, transcript of interview conducted by Don Tannas, 1961
