Biographical history
Morris Flewwelling, 1941-, was born in and grew up in Mirror, Alberta. He was educated at the University of Alberta and taught school for many years in the Red Deer region. In 1978 he became Director of Museums in Red Deer. Flewwelling made many volunteer contributions to the Red Deer & District Historical Society, Heritage Canada Foundation, Alberta Historical Resources Foundation, University of Alberta Senate, Canadian Museums Association, Heritage Community Foundation and numerous other organizations. After retiring from the Museums in 1995 he served several terms on Red Deer City Council and also as Mayor. He received the Order of Canada, Alberta Centennial Medal, Alberta Order of Excellence and many other honours.
