Matthew Moodie emigrated to Quebec City from Glasgow in 1834 and married Margaret Fife in 1836. They had three sons who later helped with the family import/export business: Lucy’s father, Walter (b.1837), Frank’s father, James (b.1841), and Henry (b.1846).
