        History

In 1931 a group of farmers from the Rimbey area of Alberta formed the Monte Vista Beef Ring. The shareholders took turns in supplying a beef to be butchered and distributed to the rest of the members. The Ring, which averaged sixteen members, folded in 1953 due to insufficient shareholders and an inability to secure a butcher.
