        History

        John George Monilaws, 1868-1945, was born in Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, was in Calgary, Alberta briefly in 1886 and returned in 1891 to join the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). He became an engineer in 1899 and until his retirement in 1934 was employed on the Calgary-Field division. He married Belle Tisdale and they had two children, J. Ronald and Helen.
