        Marg Meikle, 1956-2014, was born in Victoria, British Columbia but grew up in Vancouver. She studied for a PhD at the University of British Columbia for eight years, and then worked for the CBC as "The Answer Lady". From this she published a series of five books on interesting facts, as well as books on the history of Vancouver, Cowichan Indian Knitting, and guidebooks for Vancouver and dog ownership in Vancouver. In 1987 she was contracted by the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta to curate an exhibition on the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). She and her husband Noel MacDonald had one son Marc.
