Biographical history

Llewellyn May Jones, 1899-1986, was born in Nova Scotia and in 1920 graduated from the University of King's College in Halifax with a degree in science and engineering. After the Second World War she became assistant to the head geologist at the Alberta Petroleum and Natural Gas Conservation Board in Calgary. She returned to the University of Calgary in the 1970s to write a master's thesis on the history of petroleum exploration in western Canada.
