        Edward Herbert Maunsell, 1854-1923, was born in County Limerick, Ireland and joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) in 1874. After his discharge he established a ranch near Fort Macleod, Alberta with his brothers, Henry Frederick and George Wyndham. He and his wife, Jeannette Ryan, 1855-1933, had three children, Jeannette Louisa Clare "Ivy" (Buckwell), 1887-1972, Antoinette and Frederick William Edward, 1890-1917. Maunsell, Alberta, Maunsell Close in Calgary, and Maunsell Street in Fort Macleod are named for the Maunsell Brothers.
