Mary Bushfield, 1904-1976, grew up in Beddington (Balzac), Alberta, the daughter of Samuel J. and Nancy Bushfield who moved to the area in 1902 to ranch. She studied at Garbutt Business College in 1918, and later married David J. McElheran, 1907-1986.
