      Leander B. "Leigh" Martin, 1874-1973, was born in Elmira, Ontario. He moved to Alberta in 1896 and soon obtained a position with the High River Trading Company in High River. In 1905 he worked as travelling salesman for the International Harvester Company, and then moved to Vernon, British Columbia. He returned to Alberta in 1907 and sold tractors for the Chapin Company in Calgary. He ran the Park Hill Fox Farm in ca. 1920 and later worked at another fox farm run by Dr. Ballard. He remained there until his retirement in 1958. He married May Victoria Cartright in 1914 and they had two children, Gerald A. and Alice Virginia (Morgan).
