History
To many Albertans, Ethel Marliss is "Mrs. Consumer". She has devoted countless hours to research and disseminating information of value and interest to consumers. Mrs. Marliss is a charter member and an honorary life members of the Consumers' Association of Canada and is a recipient of that association's award of merit. She holds an Alberta Achievement Award for Outstanding Service. Her voice is familiar to many through her CBC Consumer Commentator radio program. Mrs. Marliss has always been a staunch supporter of Alberta food products. One of her outstanding achievements has been her ability to win the respect of both the consuming public and the agricultural community.
She was inducted into the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1986.
