Biographical history

Marie-Leda Cecile Evangeline "Maria" Samson, 1887-1960, was born in Inverness, Quebec. In 1916 she married Gustave Binette, 1892- , and they moved to Calgary, Alberta. Their son Georges, 1917-1918, lived only a short time and Gustave returned to Quebec. Maria remained in Calgary and worked as a cook and housekeeper for the Basilian Fathers and St. Mary's Cathedral.
