Biographical history
Margery Upton, 1886-1977, was born and raised near Ottawa. She was the daughter of William Rowles Upton and Margery Smith Bayne. She trained as a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Ottawa, graduating in 1914. She came to Calgary, Alberta to work as a school nurse and married George Ramsay in 1924. They lived briefly in Oakburn, Manitoba, returned to Calgary in 1929, but soon settled in Lacombe.
