Biographical history
Margaret ?, 1887-1970, was born in Durham, England, and studied with Dr. Maria Montessori in Rome. She came to Stettler, Alberta in 1912, then relocated to Calgary in 1919. She and her husband, William Smith Potts, ?-1963, founded the Montessori School in Calgary in 1919, and travelled and lectured in Europe and North America regarding the Montessori method of teaching. The Potts had four children, Marjorie (Jacques), Vivienne (Douglas), Muriel (Layden), and Eleanor (Stephenson).
