        History

        John William Lucas, 1882-1979, came to Alberta from Stratford, Ontario in 1903 and settled near Cayley. He later specialized in seed grain, and won prizes all over North America for his new strains. He retired from farming in 1924 and later moved to Calgary to work with Advance Rumeley Tractor Company. He later was ordained and served pastorates in Toronto and Calgary. He and his wife had one son, John Watson.
