Biographical history
Lancelot Leonard Gates, 1881-1934, was born in Southampton, England and came with his family to Ontario while a boy. He came to western Canada in 1895 and worked as a cowboy. He became a cattle buyer, stock manager, and traffic manager for P. Burns Ranches in Alberta. From 1923 to 1927 he was in Burns' Seattle office. He and his wife had three children, Andrew, Stanley Leonard, and Ruby. Stanley married Lillian, ?-1995, who subsequently married Cyril Standen.
