History
Emile Leblanc, [ca. 1885-1940], was born in Belgium. He emigrated to Alberta about 1905 with his wife, Eva Maussieux, and her mother, Melanie. They lived in the Crowsnest Pass, then moved to Taber about 1912. Emile worked as a coal mine surveyor for the White Ash and Regal Mines, and operated the Bay Mine at Taber. At the beginning of the depression he moved to Wayne in the Drumheller Valley to work for the Provincial Government as a mine inspector. Emile and his wife had at least one daughter, Renee.
