        History

        William Henry King, July 3, 1875-1941, son of HBC officer William Cornwallis King and Charlotte Flett, was born in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta and educated in England. On his return to Canada in the mid-1890s he established the Galloway Ranch ranch at Millarville, Alberta in partnership with E.D. Adams. For many years he was secretary of the MD of Stocklands.

        He married Lucy Wilkin, October 13, 1874-1926, in 1900 and they had five children, including William A., 1902-, Richard H.C, 1910- ., Margaret (Kayler/Saucier), 1904-2005, and Edith Lucy (Trotter), 1908-1979. In 1935, he married Karin(Karen) Plathen and they had two children, John Rowley, 1936- and Marie Olga (1937-1950).
