        Emile Jungbluth, 1908-[after 1986], was born in Alsace Lorraine (France). He joined the Order of Mary Immaculate in 1936 in order to become a missionary in a foreign country. He was sent to Alberta to work with the Indians in the Grouard and Fort Vermilion areas, and learned both the Beaver and Cree languages. He was next sent to the missions centering around Fort St. John, British Columbia, however his territory encompassed north to Fort Nelson; east and south into the Beaverlodge and Grande Prairie regions of Alberta; west to Moberly Lake, British Columbia; and northwest to the Half Way reserve on the Half Way River, British Columbia. Father Jungbluth retired to Fort St. John in 1983 and later moved to a nursing home in Edmonton.
