Biographical history
Joseph Kovach was a Canmore District Forest Ranger, 1940-1953. His duties involved forestry work, land administration, fisheries and wildlife management, and enforcement of game and fisheries regulations.

Fonds consists of daily work reports which contain summaries of work done, routes travelled and weather conditions. Also includes two letters between J. Kovach and J. Dexter (1940 July). An introduction and diary excerpts edited by Thomas S. Sadler, Environmental Sciences Centre, University of Calgary, 1973, accompanies the material. Also contains a hardcopy finding aid in Box 1.
