Biographical history
Joseph Brandon, ca. 1907-ca. 1990, was born in the Netherlands. He was an engineer, specializing in railway surveying and construction. He and his wife Eddy were both from non-observant Jewish families, and after the German invasion they left their young son in care of relatives and went underground. Joseph was captured by the Gestapo and spent the last three years of the Second World War in various concentration camps. The family was reunited and joined the Christian Reformed Church. They emigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1953 and retired to White Rock, B.C. around 1984. They had three children, Lex “Ted”, Edward, and Ingrid.
