History
Alice Lindstedt, 1913-1994, was born in Stavely, Alberta. In 1931 she attended the Calgary Normal School, and on her graduation in 1932 began a career as a teacher. She taught at several schools in the Stavely and Claresholm areas of Alberta, including Turnbow School, Clear Lake School, Greenbank School, Mountain Peak School, Prairie Dell Consolidated School, and Claresholm Elementary School. She upgraded her education in the late 1960s by taking library science courses at the University of Calgary. She retired from teaching in 1973, but continued to tutor until 1989. She married Lawrence Johnson in 1940, and they had two children, Alan and Carla.
