Biographical history

John McIntyre was postmaster and merchant at Lytton, British Columbia during the late 1870s and 1880s. Contractors and Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) construction crews bought supplies from his establishment during the construction of the CPR main line. Supplies included rope, nails, clothing, books, stamps, food stuffs and liquor. McIntyre also transferred telegraph messages.
