Biographical history

John G. Winkler, ?-1948, came to Alberta in 1910 from South Dakota, USA with his wife, Lyda, ?-1942, and their children, Lula (Hempel), ?-1967, Frank and Everitt. They lived in Taber at first and then moved to Cluny and Milo. They freighted coal from Bow City for themselves and their neighbours. Later they moved near Queenstown.

These records were found in a home in Brooks owned by Beverley Anderson.

The fonds consists of John's legal records (1935) and coal freighting business account books (1944-1945). Includes personal accounts of a Queenstown neighbour, Emma Peterson (1928-1945).
