Biographical history
John Forster Hardy, 1895-1977, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and trained as an engineer. He worked with the Benedum-Trees companies in Pittsburgh from 1928 until 1954 when he came to Calgary, Alberta as manager of Central Leduc Oils Ltd. The company later became Central-Del Rio Oils Ltd. and then PanCanadian petroleum. Hardy eventually became Chairman. In 1955 he married Grace Borgerding, 1911-1992. She was active with many Calgary and international organizations.
