        History

        Canadian biologist. Born July 17, 1882, and educated in Copenhagen, Denmark. Member of the Danish East Greenland Expedition, led by Mylius Erichsen, 1906-1908. Moved to the United States in 1911 where he worked for the U.S. Bureau of Entomology, 1912-1913. In 1913 came to Canada where he joined the Canadian Arctic Expedition, 1913-1918, as botanist and marine biologist. Member of an expedition to Hudson and James Bays,1920. Biologist on the Canadian Hudson Strait Expedition, 1927.
