Biographical history
John E. "Jock" Palmer, 1896-1964, was born in England and grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was a member of the 10th Battalion in the First World War, transferring to the Royal Flying Corps in 1917. He was a pilot after the war with Southern Alberta Airlines and Great Western Airways. In 1926 he established CJOC radio in Lethbridge and operated it until 1938. During the Second World War he was an instructor at the No. 5 Elementary Flight Training School (EFTS) in Lethbridge and High River. After the war he operated an electrical business in High River. His first wife died during the first war. He later married Ivy Charlotte Tegart, 1909-1988, and they had four children, Sharon "Sherry" (Paul), Elaine (Smith), John and Marvin.
