History
James H. Jefferies, [?-ca. 1956], fought with the 49th Canadian Battalion, an Edmonton regiment, during First World War. After the war he returned to Alberta and married Barbara Douglas of Edinburgh, Scotland in ca. 1918. In 1920 he began working for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), and later worked for the Alberta Box Company, and as a carpenter. In 1945 he became a fireman with Municipal District No. 13, and in ca. 1955 was head of maintenance for the Department of Highways.
