Biographical history

Jane Agnes " Jean" Cameron, 1917-1998, was born in Bassano, Alberta and trained as a teacher. She taught school in the Bassano/Duchess area for many years. Later she became active with various political groups such as the Western Canada Concept and the Reform Party. In 1948, she married David Kramer, ?-1997, and in 1972, married Ralph Ferguson, 1911-2000. She and David had three children, John, Dean and Joan (Foat).

The fonds consists of interviews of ranchers and farmers from the Duchess area, including Jim Lawson, Jimmy Small, D. Johnson, Roy Lane, James Cousins, Walter Peake, Eddie Byrd and Doug Fraser. Also includes lectures and interviews with various historians such as Grant MacEwan, A.D. Fisher, A. Johnston, Hart Bowsfield and R.H. Roy; speeches by George Barber, Ruth Gorman, Elmer Knutson, Don Bouvette and Preston Manning on behalf of Social Credit, Western Canada Concept, Confederation of Regions, Western Freedom Call and the Reform Party.
