Dr. Janes obtained his PhD.in archaeology at the University of Calgary in 1976, and later held the Directorship of the Prince of Wales Museum and Archives in Yellowknife and, from 1989, the Directorship of the Glenbow Insitute in Calgary. Alumni Award 1989
