        Elizabeth Jameson is Professor Emerita of History at the University of Calgary. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (History) from Antioch College, Ohio, and her Master of Arts and PhD. in American Culture from the University of Michigan.

        Jameson has held numerous teaching posts at the University of Michigan (1971-973), University of Colorado (1974, 1978-1979), University of Virginia (1976-1978), Colorado Department of Education (1984-1985), University of Denver (1986), University of Wisconsin (1987-1989), and the University of New Mexico (1989-1999). She has also served as the Director, Research Center on Women at Loretto Heights College (1978-1984), as the Historian for the Colorado State Council of Carpenters Centennial Project (1980-1984), and Director of the Women Studies Program at the University of New Mexico. Jameson was the Imperial Oil - Lincoln McKay Chair in American Studies, Professor of History at the University of Calgary (1999-2017) before her retirement in 2017.

        Jameson has written five books on American women's history, mining history, and the centennial history of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. She is an Honorary Life Member of the Western History Association, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Coalition for Western Women's History.
