James Orwell Brown joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in the 1930s in Saskatchewan. He served at Prince Albert and Stoney Rapids in Saskatchewan and Rocker River, Snowdrift, Fort Resolution, Fort Smith and Fort Reliance in the NWT. He retired to Calgary, Alberta.
