Biographical history

James Campbell Linton, 1858-1942, was born in Chatham, Ontario, came to Calgary, Alberta in 1884 and operated a bookstore until 1935. He was an alderman in 1888. Linton and his wife, Edith Maude Van Wart, ?-1932, had three children, Anna Marion, 1894-1992, Eva (Hutchings) and James Ivan, 1898-1964. The latter served in the 196th Battalion in First World War.
