Biographical history
Jabez Waller, 1789-1848, a member of a family of English gentry, was commissioned an ensign in the British Army in 1808. He served as an officer during the Napoleonic Wars but did not see action. In 1835 he founded a wine and spirits business which operated under the name H. Waller & Sons in Saxmundham, Suffolk, England until at least 1935.
