Biographical history

Irene Kidd was the daughter of George and Ellen Kidd of the Hubalta district of Calgary, Alberta. Her parents had come to Calgary in 1912 and built a house near what later became the intersection of 17th Avenue SE and 50th Street SE. Her father ran a blacksmith shop. Irene married A. Colin Blackwell.
