Mary Dover was the daughter of Alberta pioneers A.E. Cross and Helen Rothney Macleod. Dover was active in the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC), became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and was active in the political and civic life of Calgary, Alberta.
