        History

The Imperial Hotel was established in Calgary, Alberta in 1904 by the Calgary Hotel Company at Macleod Trail and 9th Avenue SE. In 1910 it was taken over by John Mosely who was an associate of hotelier, William J. Stokes. The hotel had 60 rooms, a dining room and bar, and was managed by John Swan Jackson. Over the years the hotel was owned and managed by numerous people. Alex Pasichny, John Sadownick, and John Zaozirny were proprietors from 1955 to 1975. The City of Calgary bought the hotel from Ben Fixler of National Hotel Ltd. in 1978. The hotel operated under Fixler's management until it was demolished in 1985 to make way for public underground parking.
