        George Mansfield Holmes, 1907-1994, of Calgary trained as an electrician at the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art (later Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, or SAIT), qualifying as a journeyman electrician. He began his career around 1926 with Lambert and Leak Electric, and Lambert's Day-Nite Signs, and he installed many of the city's commercial illuminated signs. He left Lambert around 1944 and joined Adams Radio as an appliance and wiring specialist. In 1953 he opened his own business, Appliance Parts and Service, on 16th Avenue NW. He retired in 1974 and began community service volunteering. He and his wife Lillice, ?-1986, had one daughter, Sharron (Smyth).
