      Gerald Robin "Bob" O'Bryan Hoare, 1878-1964, was born in Hampshire, England, and emigrated to a homestead east of Bowden, Alberta in 1900 with his brother, Walter. The brothers called their homestead Wild Duck Ranch, and Bob soon opened a photo studio in Bowden. At times he supplied rails and logs on contract. He closed the studio in 1914 due to financial difficulties. He continued to live on his homestead, keeping an interest in photography and also gardening. Later in life he lived in a senior's home in Innisfail, and died in Edmonton.
