Biographical history
Hew Grant Cochrane, 1888-[after 1960], was born in Compton, Quebec and came to Calgary, Alberta in 1910 to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) irrigation survey. He also worked as an engineer in various places including Lethbridge on an irrigation survey, in Ottawa, and the USA. Hew was the grandson of Senator Matthew Henry Cochrane. He and his wife, Anna Beck, had four children, Donald, Elizabeth, Cynthia, and Martha (Wake).
