Biographical history
Herbert R. Larson, 1899-1996, was born in Illinois, USA and moved with his family to Saskatchewan in 1904. He settled in Saskatoon where he ran various printing and publishing companies including Mid-West Litho and Herbert R. Larson Publishing Company. Virtually all of the books published by his firm between 1947 and 1957 dealt with the Alberta Rockies and were written by authors such as George A. Hardy, Kerry Wood, James B. Harkin, Mabel Williams and Ralph E.W. Edwards. In the 1970s Larson retired to Victoria, British Columbia.
