Biographical history
Herbert Harrison Moore, ca. 1869-1960, was born in Ontario, and studied at the Ontario School of Practical Science. He graduated in mining engineering in 1902, served for one year under a Dominion Land Surveyor, and in 1904 was given the commission of Dominion Land Surveyor. He moved to Calgary the same year and opened an office. During his career he surveyed land throughout Alberta and British Columbia, Calgary subdivisions (including the Mission district), southern Alberta irrigation ditches, and coal lands in the Crowsnest Pass, Bankhead/Banff area, and East Kootenay district. He retired in 1955.
