Biographical history
Henry Percival Wheatley was born in Ireland on March 12, 1891. He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Winnipeg, in 1915 and served as a Sergeant with the 101st Battalion.
Archival history
The photographs appear to have been originally collected by Albert Barnett of Keego Harbor, Michigan, whose stamp appears on the verso. It is unknown how they came into Wheatley’s possession.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of black and white photographs that predominantly depict Canadian action during WWI. The majority of the photographs are duplicates of Canadian Official War Photographs held at Library and Archives Canada. For further information about this initiative see: http://goo.gl/cFC15i. Captions on the verso of photographs stamped “Canadian Official War Photograph” are likely transcribed from a print index at Library and Archives Canada.
